Suppressor Ownership & Purchase Procedure
 
Overview
 
Suppressors are classified as firearms under the National Firearms Act (NFA) and are regulated as defense articles. The following procedures are established by APOKRISIS in Horn Lake, MS, to ensure a safe, legal, and transparent buying process for all customers. 
Important Regulatory Notice: As of January 1, 2026, the federal NFA transfer tax has been eliminated. While the financial barrier of the tax stamp has been removed by federal action, all federal registration, background check requirements, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) approval processes remain strictly in effect.
Core Policies ("Hard Lines")
 

  • HARD LINE 1: FFL/SOT Dealer Requirement. You must purchase through a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) who holds a valid Special Occupational Taxpayer (SOT) status. Suppressors cannot be mailed directly to a consumer's home. Any business claiming to ship an NFA item directly to your house without an SOT transfer is operating fraudulently and illegally.

 

  • HARD LINE 2: Point-of-Purchase Paperwork. All legal documentation, including digital fingerprints, photographs, and ATF Form 4 processing, must be completed with the local FFL/SOT dealer who facilitates your final physical transfer. FFL-to-FFL transfers are permitted across state lines, but the final transfer to the individual consumer must be executed by an authorized dealer within the customer’s legal state of residence.
     

  • HARD LINE 3: Risk and Inventory Management. Because local retail dealers do not typically maintain massive stockpiles of specialty NFA inventory, transferring dealers must order specific units from APOKRISIS based on your explicit customer selection. Consequently, a deposit or upfront payment is required to mitigate the risk of a dealer holding non-refundable NFA inventory.

 

  • HARD LINE 4: Purpose of Funds & Non-Refundability. Payments made to APOKRISIS serve as a commitment for production, custom asset tracking, and dealer logistics coordination. If a customer is found to be legally ineligible to possess or purchase an NFA firearm at the time the background check is run by the FBI, these funds are non-refundable to cover the administrative processing costs, manufacturing toolpath allocations, and logistics incurred.

 

  • HARD LINE 5: Individual vs. NFA Trust. You may purchase and register your suppressor as an individual; a legal trust is not required by federal law. While an NFA Trust remains an excellent option for those interested in estate planning or shared family possession, individual registration is a simpler, faster alternative under current digital processing.

 

  • HARD LINE 6: Physical Possession Verification. A transferring FFL/SOT cannot legally submit an ATF Form 4 application until the specific serialized unit is physically in their shop inventory. This ensures that the suppressor you register is the exact physical unit you inspect, hold, and own at the point of final transaction approval.

3. Dealer Logistics Coordination: 
 

  • (MISSISSIPPI RESIDENTS)- IF YOU ARE WILLING TO MAKE THE DRIVE, APOKRISIS WILL FACILITATE YOUR TRANSFER IN HOUSE. KEEP IN MIND IT WILL REQUIRE TWO TRIPS, ONCE FOR SUBMITTING PAPERWORK AND AGAIN FOR TRANSFER UPON APPROVAL.

 

  • (OUT OF STATE) -  APOKRISIS will contact a certified FFL/SOT dealer in your immediate zip code area (or you can specify your preferred local transferring dealer in the order notes). We will complete the federal FFL-to-FFL Form 3 transfer and securely ship your serialized unit directly to your local dealer.

 
4. Application Submission: Upon notification from your local dealer that your unit has arrived at their shop, schedule an appointment with them to physically inspect your unit, capture your digital fingerprints/photos, and submit your electronic ATF Form 4.
 
5. ATF eForms Review: Your application will undergo automated internal ATF review and an FBI background check. While system upgrades have significantly accelerated wait times, exact processing speeds vary by individual background complexity.

 
6. Approval & Final Transaction: Upon receipt of your official ATF digital approval notification, return to your local transferring dealer to execute the final physical transfer paperwork and take possession of your suppressor.

 
7. Permanent NFRTR Registry Liability: Your suppressor is permanently registered to your name or legal entity in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record (NFRTR). This registration is permanent. Should your registered item ever be lost or stolen, you are legally required to notify local law enforcement and the ATF immediately to protect yourself from liability.

The firearm suppressor you are purchasing features an advanced monolithic outer chassis and internal alignment core grown natively via high-performance industrial additive manufacturing. The primary substrate is a specialized, high-temperature polyamide matrix reinforced with structural carbon fiber (PAHT-CF).
By executing this purchase and signing below, the Buyer explicitly acknowledges that they are purchasing a high-performance polymer matrix composite silencer, not a traditional CNC-machined solid steel or titanium block.
 
II. Operational Parameters & Duty Constraints
To ensure the operational longevity of the monolithic composite chassis and guarantee baseline safety, the user must strictly adhere to the following certified material limits:
 

  1. Caliber Restrictions: This traditional stacked baffle device is rated and certified strictly for rimfire (.22 LR), 9mm pistol centerfire, and subsonic pistol-caliber carbine (PCC) or subsonic bolt-action applications.
     

  2. Centerfire Rifle Prohibition: This unit is NOT rated for centerfire rifle cartridges (including, but not limited to, 5.56 NATO, .223 Remington, 7.62 NATO, or .308 Winchester). Running high-velocity centerfire rifle pressures through this polymer composite architecture will cause catastrophic thermal and structural gas-cutting failure.


3. Thermal Firing Schedules: PAHT-CF exhibits exceptional tensile strength and multi-axis hoop-stress resistance. However, as a polymer composite, it has a strict thermal threshold under rapid-fire cycles. Users must monitor heat accumulation during high-volume 9mm PCC or rapid rimfire strings.
